First person writing practice

Sooooo, I've been wanting to practice writing in first person for quite a while now.

Actually my first planned work to be in first person is a story about a shinigami in Japan, but I've decided to try something a little different; something a little more interesting.

I've been reading through Sadist again because I feel like it, and I thought it would be fun to rewrite one of the chapters, but from Zehnder's point of view; to get into that weird mind of his ya know.

I've been thinking of doing Chapter 9, you know, the one where in the end everyone wanted to kill Zehnder for being a jerk - gingaakam.deviantart.com/art/S…

Because

(SPOILERS BEGIN HERE)

If you read the next-next chapter then you find out that he's lying, it would be interesting to see what he was thinking when he actually lied and hurt Esther. Because you know he hurt her, and he knows it, and he didn't like doing it, but he felt that he had to.

Also it would be fun practice for me :3

But I'm trying to decide whether I should use present or past tense. Personally I'm better at past, but hell; I could practice my present.



And if this goes well, then I've been wanting to try a 'Day in the Life of ___' series, because for First person practice and for fun.
