Large Caterpillar by GingaAkam Large Caterpillar by GingaAkam
Look! My cat brought me a present! Isn't it just fabulous.

Seriously though, my cat Haru-chan loves to bring gifts. Mostly cockroaches, but recently she's been finding caterpillars. Have no idea where she's finding them though, 'cause she's not an outside cat.

But this species, I find it fascinating. I've lived in this house for years and I've never seen this species before, so of course after putting the little guy outside I had to take a few pictures of it. He's pretty big, maybe two and a half inches long and a centimeter or so in diameter with a pretty spiked tail thingy. But I could be exaggerating, the mind has a tendency to do that with things that seem big.

What I'm wondering is how my cat picked it up, I mean, did she just bite it or something? Must be weird . . . biting a caterpillar . . .

I don't like it when people kill caterpillars because caterpillars are babies. They are baby butterflies. Poor little guys just want to evolve and fly. If you kill caterpillars then you're killing babies. Poor babies.

Also, he reminds me of caterpie. :iconcaterpieplz: I should keep it and train it til it evolves, then battle with it.

I remember finding a catterpillar at school crawling up my backpack, my teacher took it in and kept it as our class pet until it "evolved"

i loves caterpillers, one time I found at school in a post, in our country its called a "higad" . it was so adorable, but my classmate HAD to show up, HE KILLLED THE POOR THING!!! when he saw it, he grabbed a plastic fork on the ground(the school was really dirty) then he started stabbing it like it was food or something. then started stepping on it... I didnt had a chance to take a picture T_T. I miss it.....

if I could see it from the top, I could probably identify it...but with the barb and the markings, if I had to guess, hawk moth larva. and I don't know about biting a caterpillar, but I've been bitten by several. I know my bugs.:insect:

why do people kill caterpillars :? it doesnt make scene i know if they go to your garden but thats your fault too in a way since your planting foods they like to eat :/ my favorite caterpillars are fuzzy ones [link]
butterflies are important to our eco system since they pollinate the flowers just like moths and bees but bees pollinate the flowers more
