There had been many strange deaths recently, and there were only a few survivors who were willing to talk about it. Most of them spoke of an odd demon who wanted to play ‘games’ with them. Others could only remember a large monster, but the fear from the situation had caused them to block out the memory of what it looked like. The police were determined to catch these dangerous killers, but so far they only had one lead to their whereabouts. Someone had called in to tell them that a creature with an odd mask had been spotted going into a building. The person did not say who they were, but simply told them this fact and hung up.

This building mentioned was under construction, but was nearly finished so it looked like a normal building. A team of four cops had been sent to investigate, as there was no real evidence that the person seen entering the building was the killer.

It was late, and only a few cops had stayed behind at the station. There were three of them. Tom Anderson was sitting in a chair and flipping through some reports of the killer’s works. Daniel Smith was just watching television along with Joe Wilson. They were bored, waiting for the four cops who had been sent to investigate to return.

Then the phone rang; Anderson reached over and put it on speaker.

“We need backup! It already killed two of us!” The voice screamed; shouts were heard in the background.

“What!? What’s going on?!” Smith jumped up from in front of the small television and ran over to the phone. “Who’s attacking you!?”

“And we can hear someone screaming! They need our help!”

“What?! Someone else is there!?” Wilson asked with panic.

“We haven’t reached them; but it sounds like a woman being attacked!” A loud scream was heard in the background, it sounded like a woman.

“We’re coming to help you!”

“Oh god it’s coming towards me! Send help! Hurry!” The voice screamed, gun shots were heard in the background; then another voice was heard in the background. But it was a little bit hard to hear.

“ケケケー!  電話かける? 詐欺師! 電話はルールに反対している! ペナルティ!” (-laughter- Phone call? Cheater! Phones are against the rules! Penalty!)

“No! Stay away from me!” More gun shots were heard, and then the clicking of an empty clip. Deranged laughter was heard. “W-What is that!?”

“これ? これはカゲのともだち-” (This? This is Kage’s friend-)

The audio slowly faded to a loud blaring static; and then the connection was lost and the room was filled with the sound of the dial tone. The three of them grabbed their gear and ran outside to their police cars. They drove quickly to the building, it appeared normal like it always did.

They stepped out of their cars and ran into the building. The building seemed empty; the room they stepped into seemed to be some sort of lobby, this building was probably going to be turned into a hotel or something like that. There were doors to an elevator and a few hallways leading to other rooms. The doors to the elevator were open, revealing an empty elevator shaft.

“あたらし プレーヤー? I’ve been expecting you. Hopefully you’ll fare better than the previous players; they lost the game.” (New player?) A voice called out from the darkness. The three cops raised their guns towards it.

“Who are you!?” Smith shouted angrily towards the voice.

“オレ? オレわカゲカオ。I’ve heard you’re interested in my work? If you win the game then I’ll tell you all about it! ケケケー!” (Me? I’m KageKao. [. . .] -laughter-)

“What!? It’s you!? Show yourself!” Wilson commanded the voice.

“’Show myself’? But I’m standing right here!” In the darkness they could see someone’s shape at the other end of the room, but they seemed to be floating above the ground. The shape motioned with its arm, and somewhere someone flipped on a light switch.

They saw him; he wore that same black and white mask that people had described. It displayed a playful happy face on the black half of the mask. He also wore a black hoodie and pants, a black and white scarf, and white gloves. He was crossing his arms, and was upside down. Claws protruded from his feet through his shoes, and were holding him to the ceiling.

“コンバンワ あたらし プレーヤー!” (Good evening new players!)

The three of them pointed their guns at him; he raised one of his hands towards them.

“ばかげた 初心者! You can’t start the game before I explain the rules!” (Silly newb!) The demon began laughing.

“Game?” Anderson asked, a little frightened. He had heard survivors talk about these ‘games.’

“はい! ゲーム! Let me explain the rules. There are many doors as you can see. And-” (Yes! Game!) He was interrupted by a loud screaming. It sounded like a woman being attacked. The cops recognized it as the same scream they had heard in the background on the phone. The creature began laughing.

“Yes, yes, perfect timing. And I will continue, if you want to reach the source of that screaming, then you must play the game. You need to go through the doors until you reach them. I’ll give you a hint; fourth floor. There are rules about this though; no phones. Your little cop buddy disobeyed that rule, he got to play with a friend of mine.” He laughed crazily, remembering that scene. “Once you enter a room, you cannot go back out. You must continue from there, can’t go back out, keep going forward!”

“Cut the crap! You’re coming with us!” Smith pointed his gun forward and took a few steps towards the demon. He fired a warning shot then went past the demon’s head. The demon merely laughed, not flinching at all.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you; you might run into some obstacles along the way.” With that the demon reached up and put his gloves on the ceiling; large, black, cat-like claws unsheathed from his hands. “Good luck, we all know you’re going to need it!” The demon climbed swiftly along the ceiling and towards the elevator.

“Hey! Get back here!” Smith ran towards the demon; but the demon jumped down the elevator shaft. Then they saw him climb upwards along the wall and out of sight into darkness. The ear-piercing scream was heard again, and then all was silent.

“We better follow him; we need to find the others and that woman!” Anderson quickly walked forward, Wilson followed him. Anderson reached a door and opened it.

“Here are the stairs, let’s go to the fourth floor and find them!” They ran up the stairs, but were quickly stopped when they saw that rubble and construction material blocked them from going any further than the second floor. They had to get out on the second floor, but luckily for them they soon found a door to another staircase. There was a noise on the other side. It sounded like scratching.

“What is that!?” Wilson asked; none of them advanced to open the door.

“Maybe it’s that masked bastard again! I’m gonna put a bullet through his face!” Smith ran forward and threw the door open. All that was behind the door was the next staircase.

“What!? There’s nothing here but st-” Anderson started, but then they saw something else. There was a fluffy creature sitting on one of the steps. It was a slightly chubby cat. It looked at them with bright green eyes. Its fluffy brown and white tabby fur stood up slightly.

“Oh, just a cat!” Anderson stepped forward towards the stairs.

“Yeah just a cat; also target practice!” Smith pointed his gun towards the cat; the cat merely looked up at him, confused.

“Smith, don’t-!” Wilson started, but something moved past the railings of the stairs. Suddenly a hand appeared, it was a normal hand; except instead of fingernails it had long cat-like claws. It grabbed the rail and the owner of the hand jumped out onto the railing. It wore a gray hoodie whose hood was lined with a light beige fur, and it wore a Japanese fox mask that was white with blue and red detailing. It also carried a large metal chain.

Before Smith could react, it jumped forward and kicked him in the head. Smith’s head slammed into the wall, leaving a spot of blood on it. Smith fell to the ground, and the masked person jumped on top of him. The masked person began ruthlessly attacking Smith’s face; one hand punching with the chain wrapped around its knuckles, the other hand open handed and clawing.

“Son of a bitch!” Wilson reacted, he aimed his gun towards the masked person; but someone else ran down the stairs. This person also wore a mask like the other, but his mask was black with red and gold detailing. This person also wore a red and black hoodie. The other masked person wielded a large pipe, and swung it towards Wilson. Wilson began to pull the trigger, but the pipe swung upwards and pushed the gun up towards Wilson’s face. The gun went off right in his face. Wilson kicked out, kicking the masked person off of Smith. Then Wilson dropped the gun, and fell down dead.

“Wilson no!” Anderson shouted, but he knew that he was dead. Anderson quickly reached down and pulled Smith off of the ground. Smith had dropped his gun, but Anderson held out his own and began shooting towards the two who were attacking them. The cat yowled and ran up the stairs, but the two masked people dodged the bullets and advanced. Soon the gun ran out of ammo; and Anderson began to try and run towards the other door up the stairs. The one with the black mask dropped his pipe, and pulled out a switchblade from his pocket. He began to advance, although a little slower, more menacingly. Anderson reached the door with Smith, he threw the door open and ran out onto the third floor, then slammed it shut.

Surprisingly, the two masked people didn’t seem to make any effort to open the door; they simply gave up chase and all was silent. Anderson looked at Smith. Smith’s face was pretty messed up, there were large scratches bleeding heavily, and bruises were beginning to form. Smith looked away, embarrassed for having been hurt so bad. To ignore this fact, he pointed at something on the ground.

“Hey; what’s that?” There was something on the ground; it seemed to be some kind of liquid. It was a blue black color, and there was a trail of it. They began to follow it; and it lead to a room. The door to this room had a few spots of the substance on it, and scrawled with the same substance on the door was the number ’42.’

“I bet he’s in there! I’m gonna punch his face in! Wilson is dead because of this!” Smith opened the door and stepped inside, but then stopped.

The room was bare except for a desk near the end and a dead body on the floor. On the desk was a bunch of supplies like needles and thread, also a syringe. The body on the floor was horrifying; it was covered with zippers that had been sewn onto the skin. There was someone sitting at the desk too. It had the body shape of a normal human, but its skin looked like black leather, and it had silver zippers all over it, like it was some sort of awful doll. It didn’t notice them, but was writing something down in a small notepad. It was using a fountain pen; the pen had a tube on the back of it which was inserted into an open zipper on the creature’s arm. Blue black blood flowed from the creature’s arm to the fountain pen.

Smith freaked out and began to back out of the room, but a hand reached out and grabbed him. He looked up, and saw that same demon that they had seen in the beginning. The demon smiled at him maliciously; a smile showing on the white side of his mask.

“Remember the rules? Once you enter a room; you can’t go back out again!” The demon pulled him into the room and slammed the door shut.

“What are you doing!? Let go of me!” Smith shouted from behind the door. Anderson began to beat on the door, but it wouldn’t budge.

“ゼパズー!あたらしいおともだちがある! この人が遊びたい! ケケケー!” (Zippers! Here’s a new friend! This person wants to play! -laughter-)

“H-hey! What are you doing!? Get that syringe away from me!”

The sounds of a struggle were heard, and Anderson continued to try and get the door down to no avail. Soon the noises stopped, and all was silent except for the demon’s crazed laughter. The door opened, and Anderson could see Smith on the ground; unconscious. The zipper creature was couching beside him; sewing a zipper onto his face over one of the gashes that the masked person had given him.

The demon stepped out of the room and shut the door.

“Let’s leave Zippers to his work, shall we?” He started down the hall and jumped onto the wall, and then climbed away at a fast speed; his deranged laughter ringing through the halls. Anderson tried to open the door again, but it still did not budge.

“Get back here you son of a bitch!” He ran after the demon. The demon opened one of the doors and went inside, Anderson followed. When he got to the door he saw that it was more stairs. He climbed them and reached the fourth floor.

Entering the hallway Anderson saw that all the doors along the hall were closed, well, all but one. That same ear shattering scream was heard from that room, and Anderson raced towards the door. He pushed it open and looked inside. The room was dark; and he could see no one through the darkness. Anderson stepped inside and looked around, and then laughter was heard behind him. Someone flipped on the light switch. There were dead bodies all over the floor. Anderson recognized the cops that were sent in to investigate, some of them looked like they were crushed, and others had a few zippers sewn onto them. One of them even had a syringe sticking out from his arm, still filled with a little bit of something.

The laughter continued behind Anderson, and he turned around. He was now face to face with that masked demon.

“You mother f*cker!” Anderson raised his gun and pointed it directly between the demon’s eyes. “Put your hands up if don’t want to die!” The demon simply laughed and crossed his arms.

“オレはバカじゃない、それは空.” (I’m not stupid, it’s empty.)

“I mean it!” Anderson didn’t understand what he had said, but he didn’t want to appear frightened. “Where is that woman who was screaming!?”

“Woman? Oh silly you, there’s no woman up here! We planned on having one to use as bait, but she died! We had to improvise!” The demon laughed and pointed at something behind Anderson.

Anderson froze; he could sense someone behind him. He could smell the strong odor of tobacco smoke. A hand reached out from behind him and calmly reached for his gun. The hand was wearing a dark red glove, and it gripped the gun by the barrel. The fingers held down and the barrel bended under the pressure, and then the hand dropped the ruined gun.

Anderson turned around and faced this monster. It was very tall, and was clad in an all-black outfit with a black trench coat. It also wore a silvery white tie, a black hat, and a painted bandanna. The bandanna’s paint consisted of two glaring yellow eyes and a horrifying mouth that was filled with dagger-like teeth. Smokey barbwire tendrils protruded from its back.

Before Anderson could react, the monster reached out with one of its long arms and grabbed Anderson’s leg. It swung him around, breaking his leg, and threw him towards the wall. Anderson screamed and slammed into the wall. He fell down, screaming as blood flowed from his broken leg; a piece of bone sticking out of the side. The monster walked over to him. Using its tendrils, the monster reached down and picked up Anderson by his arm. Then the tendrils spun quickly; turning the arm to an angle that it should never go to. A loud snap was heard; the tendrils turned into smoke and Anderson dropped to the ground, screaming. The monster was grinning under its bandanna, black blood from its mouth dripping down onto its neck. It was enjoying this immensely. It kicked Anderson in the ribs; breaking a few. Then it continued breaking bones, its grin becoming wider.

The demon simply watched, then laughed

“Who knew? Zehnder knows how to scream like a woman.”
Yay another story :3

Kagekao is at it again; but this time he has Kai, Ryan, Zippers, Zehnder, and even Boots to tag along.

And also, concerning Zippers; he constantly writes the number '42' on the doors of rooms that he's working in; the meaning of why is partially because of the 42=death thing, but also another reason that will be explained sometime later.

And Zehndy knows how to scream like a girl; he also knows how to talk like a girl, and all the accents too. Yeah Zehndy's cool.

Kage is fun to write about; helps me practice my Japanese too

And don't mess with Boots; if you do Kai with fuck you up.
